'''Tug-of-War''' is a standard set of rules in [[Versus Mode]] and is the ruleset used in [[Story Mode]]. For this reason, it is considered the "default" ruleset for competitive Petal Crash.

In Tug-of-War, the [[battle bar]] is present, and begins at a size of 35. Players begin with 3 lives each. As such, there are two different win conditions—you may [[overgrow]] your opponent at any time, or take lives from them on the battle bar three times. [[Garbage]] that is accepted takes 4 turns to spawn in, and does not leave any [[petal|petals]] behind when it is cleared.
