Double diagonal

Chain type | Proto-chain |
The double diagonal is a proto-chain pattern that is notable for the fact that it frequently appears naturally due to the nature of spawner randomization, and that it can be converted into either a corner chain or sandwich in two moves if proper bracing is already present. Given the initial board state in the diagram at the top, the following chain patterns are reachable:
Conversion type | Resulting board state | ||||||

An example of unfolding a double diagonal can be found here (content warning: potentially NSFW language) on the left edge of the board. There is a double diagonal formed by reds on top of yellows, and the yellow on the left is moved down to make room for the red to be pushed to the left. This quickly adds two links to the chain going around the left and top edges of the board.
