Lilibri is a fairy who possesses the Sacred Blossom Lily. She is a teacher and historian who runs the Sylvan Library. Lilibri is cheerful and usually composed, but when it comes to work or Petal Crashing, she can occasionally lose herself in her passions. She would like to be able to catalogue all information about Florea's past, whether or not it is still available in the present.

She is also the host of the game's opening tutorial and the tutorials found under the "How to Play" menu, and her puzzles are aimed at teaching basic concepts such as how to deal with garbage and constructing and setting off simple chains.

Play style

Lilibri's AI has a methodical playstyle, picking good moves and executing medium-size chains well. Her quirk is that when she accepts garbage, she becomes flustered and her cursor will randomly wiggle around for a few seconds.

Storymode Summary

[Prologue]

Lilibri’s story begins with her telling the legend of the Seven Sacred Blossoms, their subsequent separation during the downfall of the Florean Kingdom, and how if one collects all Seven and brings them to the Ruins of The Royal Garden they will be granted their hearts true and deepest wish. Lilibri is excited by the legend, despite saying there are disagreements between historians as to its validity, and feels as though it is “knowledge worth pursuing either way!” Lilibri happens to have one of the Sacred Blossoms herself, The Lily, and cites it as proof of their being some truth to the legend, albeit with some hesitance. Being a librarian, Lilibri has never gone out into the world on a quest before and is worried about the prospects. However, she believes that if an adventure to find all the Sacred Blossoms means that she can accomplish her duty of making the Sylvan Library the best resource it can possibly be, as well as uncover knowledge lost to time, that it is worth the risk.

[Vs. Strelitz]

As Lilibri arrives in Strelitz’s Village, admiring the Bird of Paradise Blossom, she is disrupted by Strelitz who claims that she’ll have to “pry it from my HOT ALIVE HANDS!!” Despite the Villagers having allowed Lilibri to borrow the Bird of Paradise, Strelitz furiously stands in Lilibri’s way, erroneously asking about how Lilibri would feel if Strelitz just took a book from the library. Strelitz shouts that “everyone here’s too good for their own good!” and they shouldn’t just hand over the Bird of Paradise to a stranger. Lilibri surmises that Strelitz’s rage-fueled intent is due to how much he cares for the village, and proposes that the two Petal Crash so Strelitz can get to know Lilibri better, and thus, trust her with the Bird of Paradise.

Once you’ve won against Strelitz, Lilibri states that the village’s true treasure is him for having wanted to protect it. And that he should make sure to study.

[Vs. Penny & Deony]

After having obtained the Bird of Paradise Blossom, Lilibri eventually finds her way to Penny & Deony’s shop, admiring the quality of their clothing as well as the skill required to make them. Overhearing Lilibri’s praises, Penny begins to converse with Lilibri over Deony’s seamstress skills, regardless of Deony’s bashfulness. As Lilibri begins to talk about how she has read books on fashion and sewing, Deony is curious about the idea of there being books on such topics. Lilibri lets Deony know that there are a multitude of books on many subjects at the Sylvan Library, although Deony is too shy to ask if he can borrow one at first, up until Penny encourages him to ask. Always willing to share knowledge, Lilibri hands them a Travelogue that she believes they would find interesting.

As the conversation continues, Penny asks if Lilibri wanted her Peony Blossom, saying that she’s heard around the town that Lilibri was asking about it and how it could grant wishes. Lilibri timidly confirms this, and Penny says that she’ll give it to her...for a ten percent discount. Deony convinces Penny to be more lenient, and Penny adds that she’ll give Lilibri a double discount if she can beat them in a Petal Crash.

Once you’ve won against Penny & Deony, Lilibri says that she’ll meet Deony at the library, after she’s finished paying her first installment to Penny.

[Vs. Ore Kid]

Upon starting the encounter with Ore Kid, the scene begins with her re-clarifying information that Lilibri had given to her about how her Orchid Blossom is one of seven Blossoms that when brought together can grant someones wish. Although, Lilibri does have to correct Ore Kid on how many Sacred Blossoms there are, as she mistakenly says there are six instead of seven. Despite her best efforts, however, Ore Kid continues to get the amount wrong. Once Lilibri nervously asks for the Orchid Blossom, Ore Kid casually agrees to give it to her.

Lilibri is surprised that Ore Kid would give her the Blossom in such an unconcerned manner and says that she’s willing to give Ore Kid something in return, with Ore Kid making a quip that “i didn’t even have to collect nine of you.” But she affirms that it's okay if Lilibri just takes it, as she doesn’t even know what she would wish for. She then asks what Lilibri is going to wish for, and Lilibri says that she wants “a window into Florea’s past,...” and brings up the possibilities of all the things people could learn if they could study the past as if it were the present.

Ore Kid appreciates the idea of there being more “old stuff” as she puts it, saying that digging up old things is “part of her jam.” However, she pauses, thinking about how if the wish would give Lilibri absolute knowledge and how “knowledge is power”, and shouts that Lilibri’s true wish is for absolute power. Ore Kid then challenges a confused Lilibri to a Petal Crash, saying that she’ll stop her dark reign before it bears fruit. Although in reality, it’s because Ore Kid happens to be bored.

Once you’ve won against Ore Kid, Lilibri clarifies that she’ll only use her wish for good. Although, she begins to wonder if her wish truly is good and hopes that it is.

[Vs. Daize]

Once you encounter Daize, the scene begins very similarly to that of Ore Kid’s, where Daize is re-clarifying information Lilibri had given him about the Sacred Blossoms, their ability to grant ones true wish when gathered, and that his Daisy Blossom happens to be one of them. Lilibri confirms this, saying that if collecting them will allow her to wish for “a library full of everything Florea’s past has to teach us, it’s worth a try at least!” Daize claims to not know much about history outside of his city’s, Saying that the past that led up to now "ain't working for a lotta folks these days." and stating that people don’t have the time or energy to worry about the mysteries of the past when their present is “poor and hungry”, and they’re trying to make ends meet so they can even make it to tomorrow.

Lilibri appreciates Daizes' thought provoking musings, although doesn’t quite understand at first. He clarifies that he believes that “the past is a tool just like anything else. What matters is the good you do with it.” and that he trusts that Lilibri will make good use of it, and decides that he’ll give her his Daisy Blossom, joking that she’s already proven she’s already a master of old tools just by dealing with him.

Lilibri thanks Daize for his kindness and wisdom, saying that “I hope to find the faith in me you’ve seemed to find so easily…” and how she wants to be worthy of the history she seeks to preserve. Believing Lilibri to be the wiser one between the two, Daize challenges her to a Petal Crash to prove she’s more enlightened than he is.

Once you’ve won against Daize, Lilibri thanks Daize for believing in her and that she’ll think hard about how to best use the knowledge of the past to better the present.

[Vs. Yosoti]

The next encounter begins with Lilibri meeting and subsequently recognizing Yosoti and their Forget-Me-Not Blossom. Lilibri goes up to Yosoti, about to ask them for their Blossom, however Yosoti interrupts and mistakenly believes Lilibri to be a fan asking to autograph one of her books. Lilibri begins to get nervous as she’s trying to explain herself, whilst Yosoti tells her that there’s no need to be shy and that they wouldn’t mind if Lilibri’s books happened to contain Fanfic or Drawings of them.

Lilibri continues to try and clarify the situation, but to no avail, as Yosoti begins to read some of the titles of her books which include “Yosoti at The Royal Court" & “Rebel Heart: Yosoti’s Secret Love.” Absolutely flustered, Lilibri blurts out that they’re actually historical manuscripts of Yosoti’s predecessors. Lilibri had been doing research on the Sacred Blossoms, and had learned that the Forget-Me-Not Blossom & the title of Yosoti had been passed down through their family for generations.

Yosoti then realizes that they had heard of Lilibri before, and that she was on a quest for “a perfect record of the past.” They speak fondly of Lilibri’s wish, although they also have a deep familial bond with the Forget-Me-Not Blossom and say they can’t part with it, not until Yosoti’s memory has been preserved in Lilibri’s collection with a historic Petal Crash for the ages.

Once you’ve won against Yosoti, Lilibri states that her wish belongs to everyone who wants to be remembered, and how she hopes that all she’s seen can be conveyed.

[Vs. Rosalia]

As Lilibri enters the Royal Garden, she’s met with Rosalia, who declares herself as the last knight of the kingdom and protector of the Royal Garden. Calling out to Lilibri, she demands her to state her wish. Lilibri is astounded upon meeting Rosalia, excited at the prospect of being able to ask someone who was alive hundreds of years ago about the past. Lilibri decides against this, however, believing she should calm down due to this being an important moment in her quest.

Lilibri states that she wants the Sylvan Library to be a place where the past can live on in the present, and bring back all the knowledge that has been lost to time. Rosalia believes Lilibri’s dream of preserving what has been lost to be a noble one, however she also believes it to be misguided. Rosalia says that her wish would be to revive her old kingdom, and that its preservation in history could not compare to it being brought back to life.

Lilibri is shocked at this, believing that such a wish is impossible and that the Ancient Kingdoms of Florea had dissolved for a reason. Rosalia considers Lilibri’s statement to be that of hypocrisy, that it decries the past that she claims to love. Rosalia chastises Lilibri, thinking that she’d prefer history to be remembered but remain dead, instead of it being brought back to life. Rosalia acknowledges Lilibri’s resolve, but senses that she’s been restraining herself. Furious by this notion and unwilling to allow Lilibri to hold back, Rosalia states that “if you refuse to face me in a clash of words...you’ll face me in a clash of wits!” Rosalia challenges Lilibri to a Petal Crash, announcing that whomever wins shall take claim of the final Sacred Blossom, The Rose.

Once you’ve won against Rosalia, Lilibri asks her for her forgiveness. She believes that Rosalia’s wish and her attachment to everything she’s lost is worthy, and then leads into her ending monologue.

[Vs. Daize (Second Encounter)]

If the player goes through story mode on Medium or Higher Difficulty without using a Continue, it’ll activate the prerequisite for the following encounter to happen before the ending. As Lilibri holds all Seven Sacred Blossoms in her hands, she wonders how she got to this point of having something so monumental , believing it to be something much bigger than she’s actually earned. She thinks about how everyone she had met must’ve had wishes they themselves wanted to grant, and that if she hadn’t taken the Blossoms from them so soon just to fulfill hers, their wishes would’ve been far more worthwhile than hers.

Shamefully wondering what she’s going to do next, Daize appears and adds that he’s also curious about what’ll happen. Lilibri is shocked, wondering why Daize is here. Daize explains he arrived to see Lilibri’s wish come true, and quips that “the suspense is a nice touch.” Lilibri says that she’s glad Daize is here, and tells him that he should take the Sacred Blossoms, believing that it’d be better if he uses them to help his city’s people. Daize refuses, doubting that that’s something she wants. Lilibri insists that it is, although eventually gives in, feeling as though she’s “all mixed up” and that she doesn’t know what she wants. Daize maintains that she does, that her wish both made the two of them happy, and that it’s the reason they’re both here. Daize affirms her passion, how much she loves learning, how far she was willing to go for the Sacred Blossoms, how much she cares for all of Florea, and that it’d be better if she spread that love that she has instead of letting her shame hold it back.

Lilibri admits to having held back a lot, that her journey was already a wish come true and something that felt “like reading every book I love all at once.” Daize adds that he figured as much, and Lilibri says how she’d like to challenge Daize to one last rematch to prove she’s earned her wish, but in reality admits that she simply loves Petal Crash. Daize believes that that’s as good of a reason as any, and would be happy to oblige if Lilibri wants to.

Lilibri lets Daize know that if she got any happier she’d “geek out for sure”, saying she can’t promise if she won’t be too much to handle. Daize feels as though he can rise to the occasion, and with that Lilibri giggles gleefully, shouting about how a climactic final bout is something that both history and dreams are made of.

Once you’ve won against Daize for the second time, Lilibri expresses how she doesn’t need to be more than who she is to deserve this. That “anyone can make history…everyone does!”

[Ending & Epilogue]

Lilibri contends that the past can’t be displaced into the present. That the past is the sum of everyone's collective experiences, and is the living, breathing foundation for the future. As Lilibri holds the Seven Sacred Blossoms in hand, she says that she once believed that her heart’s true and deepest wish was a complete record of the past, but remarks that the history she dearly wanted to preserve needed her more than she needed it. That knowledge on its own can’t be enough, and that the past needs to be properly cared for, passed down, cultivated and taught. Lilibri then blows the Seven Sacred Blossoms onto the wind, and watches on with a calm, content, but determined resolve.

During the Epilogue, Lilibri speaks of how those who come to the Sylvan Library are all a part of the foundation for the future, and because of that she’ll have to make it the best environment for learning that she possibly can. Now taking up the title of both Librarian and Teacher, she professes that she’s done doubting herself, that despite any past failures, her journey has taught her that she has the strength she’s always wished for, and that alongside her books is all she needs to keep preserve history and keep it alive with those she teaches. Finally, she pronounces that she’s proven that the Legend of the Seven Sacred Blossoms is real.

Hyper Lilibri

Hyper Lilibri in-game.

If the player reaches the end of Story Mode on medium difficulty or higher without using a continue, Lilibri will reappear as a true final boss stage in all stories except her own (in which case the opponent will be a slightly faster version of Daize.) This version of Lilibri is generally known as Hyper Lilibri, and her AI plays much the same as Lilibri, albeit with increased speed. In this state, Lilibri has fully given herself over to her urge to Petal Crash, and Ore Kid remarks that she is a huge nerd.

It is possible to play as or against Hyper Lilibri in Versus Mode by changing costumes while Lilibri is selected, and this will also make it possible to select Hyper Lilibri's theme in regular matches. If a CPU player is using Hyper Lilibri, they will use the faster version of her AI as well.

Hyper Lilibri was made slightly slower in patch 1.0.8.
