Battle bar

From Petal Crashers Wiki

The battle bar in a game between Ore Kid and Daize.

The battle bar is a feature of Story Mode matches and many configurations of Versus Mode.

During a match, clearing a certain number of petals will push the battle bar that far towards your opponent's end. If the bar moves all the way to one end or the other, the player whose side it has been pushed to will lose a life. Taking all of your opponent's lives is one way to win the match. Over time, the bar will shrink, and it will require fewer clears to take a life from your opponent. Once a life has been lost, the bar will reset to the center and return to its original size.

From left to right, the battle bar displays how far the first player has pushed the bar, followed by the current size (goal), followed by a graphical representation of the bar, and then the size again, and then how far the second player has pushed the bar. +0 means the bar is in the middle, +N means a player has pushed the bar N units to the other side, and -N means it has been pushed N units to that player's side. The numbers in the corners should sum to 0 at all times.

The battle bar is present in Tug-of-War, where the goal starts at 35 and shrinks to 5 over time. Winning via the battle bar requires pushing it to your opponent's side 3 times. It is also present in Clear Contest, where it starts at 70 and players start with one life. It is not present during Trash Attack, where you must force your opponent to overgrow to win.

If the battle bar is present, the background will additionally scroll away from whichever player is currently ahead.
