Glossary of sandwiches
From Petal Crashers Wiki
The sandwich is a compact branching form which is often built both in openers and in the midgame, as it is easily converted from various proto-chain forms. Because of its versatility and frequency of appearance, many forms which are based on sandwiches have their own names.
Large sandwiches
Because they are compact, sandwiches can be extended both in the length of the branches and in the number of branches easily.
- Club sandwich
- A sandwich with three branches rather than two.
- Sub sandwich
- A sandwich with long branches.
- Dagwood
- An excessively large sandwich, generally with many branches.
Compound forms
The sandwich can be easily combined with other forms, often producing self-bracing structures that are very bulky.
- Deli
- A T-split with sandwiches on each side.
- Franchise
- One of the following forms, or several of them chained together:
- A straight chain of sandwiches.
- A corner chain of sandwiches.
- Half-deli
- A T-split where one side is a sandwich. Useful because it often results in a good base for openers when combined with the staircase:
- Pinwheel sandwich
- A pinwheel where each link is a sandwich. Can also be thought of as a franchise with 4 corner links.
- Platter
- A repeating pattern of corner chains where every other link is a sandwich.
- Stairwich
- A staircase terminating in a sandwich.
Sandwiches named after players
- Spooty McMuffin
- A large, compact, heavily sandwiched and staircased chain, constructed as an opener. This opening is most often performed by Spooty, who quickly constructs complex versions of this chain, and its name derives from the use of sandwiches in the opener (breakfast sandwiches).
