The sandwich is a chain link that clears multiple parallel groups of petals at once. It is derived from the corner chain. In Versus Mode, it is used to quickly add garbage to chains without extending the time it takes for them to resolve, and in Time Trial, it is used to clear as many blocks as possible in a long chain without adding extensions.

Sandwiches are easily constructible from the double diagonal, which is a common pattern created by spawners. As such they can be created quickly during the midgame given that the board is full enough to provide the required mobility.
